Looking ahead to 2026

We can't continue to give if we are empty.
We can't continue to give if we are empty.

✨ And what about you?

We can’t continue to give if we are empty.

Our work requires a lot from us – knowledge, compassion as well as both emotional and physical resilience.

The last thing we do in a day shouldn’t be attending to our own needs to restore our energy, have fun and feel alive.

In 2026, please commit some of your energy just for yourself.

✨ How exciting is this?

In the past year, I have seen:

·       Massage therapists gaining confidence working with clients

who have complex cancer histories

·       A significant increase in massage therapists interested

in becoming oncology-massage aware

·       Recognition that gentle work still requires strong clinical reasoning

·       Asking deeper questions about safety, consent, and individualized care

·       Increasing demand for oncology massage trained therapists

🌟 Looking Ahead

Whether oncology massage is already part of your practice—

or something you’re curious about—thank you for being part of

a profession that continues to grow in awareness, compassion,

and clinical responsibility

It is always clear that we need to continue to learn and adapt.

Looking ahead to 2026, do you have topics or areas of oncology massage

that you would like to further explore?  Let me know.  My goal is to respond

to the needs of our community so that we can continue to comfortably

take our place within the integrative oncology community

of health care practitioners.

All the best in 2026!

Janet Penny, RMT
